Siam Cuisine Thai and Sushi Review

Siam Cuisine - View of the restaurantSiam Cuisine is located just north of downtown Fort Lauderdale in the small burb of Wilton Manors.

Parking is often an issue if you are coming at peak lunch time.  However, if you don’t mind walking a couple minutes there is a large lot just north of the restaurant.

Getting to Siam Cuisine will require folks from downtown Fort Lauderdale to hop in a car and drive for about 5 minutes.  It’s a straight shot north on 3rd avenue when driving from downtown.

Siam Cuisine focuses on making Thai food, and with a recent expansion to the restaurant is now offering Sushi as well.

The atmosphere is elegant and classy, with a clean, natural decor that feels just right.  The staff is also very friendly and welcoming.  Pricing is average with most lunch entrees coming in between $7 and $9.

Todd’s Review of the Panang Curry:

Siam Cuisine - Panang Curry with shrimp and veggiesPanang Curry (for those who don’t know) is a rich sauce made of a variety of authentic Thai spices mixed in with coconut milk, fish sauce, peanuts, bamboo shoots, bell peppers and commonly chicken or shrimp.  The curry is the source of all that condenssed flavor and spicy heat.

Siam Cuisine has to be one of the most consistent retaurants I know of.  Every time I order this dish it is a mirror image of the last meal I ordered… a perfect version of Panang Curry everytime!  The meal is served with a large scoop of Jasmine Rice and makes for a nice sized lunch.  Every bite is overwelming with flavor and you’ll find yourself enjoying the spicy kick this dish offers.  Be sure to ask for water often because after a few bites you’ll need to put out that small blaze in your mouth.  For those of you afraid of the heat, you can ask for a mild version too.

There are many Thai places in the area that offer this dish, but I have to admit that my favorite is always Siam Cuisine’s version.  It’s the perfect balance of everything and sure to be a winner!

Todd’s Score: 93/100
Pros: Great tasting dish, decent size, best panang curry I know of.
Cons: Parking is often a problem.
